According to Marathi tradition, Team India's star cricketer Shardul Thakur married Mittali Parulkar on Monday in Mumbai. The first pictures from Mittali and Shardul Thakur's opulent wedding have surfaced online.
Shardul and Mittali were previously engaged on November 29 in front of their family during a very modest ceremony. Mittali, a reputedly accomplished businesswoman, is said to be in charge of the Thane startup "All the Bakes."
Shardul is the third Indian cricketer to be married this year, following Axar Patel and KL Rahul. KL Rahul married his longtime girlfriend Athiya Shetty in January, the same month that Axar Patel married Neha Patel.
Many of Shardul's teammates attended the wedding ceremony. People like KKR captain Shreyas Iyer, Abhishek Nayar, and Indian captain Rohit Sharma were present at the Sangeet ceremony on Sunday.
On January 24 of this year, Shardul Thakur last played for India in an international match (IND vs NZ ODI series).
The all-rounder, a crucial part of India's white-ball team, will return when Rohit Sharma and company take on Australia in a three-match One-Day International series.
Shardul's wedding is wished for by CSK and KKR.
To formally announce the union, pictures from the wedding were shared on the official social media pages of both Shardul's old team, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and his IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Mittali and Shardul had been dating for some time.
Earlier in the week, there were also videos released from the Haldi ceremony, during which Shardul danced to popular Bollywood songs and won the hearts of cricket fans.
After dating for a considerable amount of time, Shardul and Mittali made their engagement public in November 2021. People like Shreyas, Rohit, and Nayyar were present at that ceremony, just like their wedding festivities.
Shardul frequently starts for Team India in Test matches played overseas, but he does so much less frequently at home and was not chosen for the squad for the four-test series against Australia.
At the unplanned time, Shardul got married. He will rejoin the group for the three-match ODI series against Australia in June.
To represent KKR will be Shardul Thakur.
Shardul will play for KKR for the first time in the upcoming IPL 2023. The all-rounder dealt with Delhi Capitals (DC) before the 2023 IPL auction and joined the two-time champions.
The Delhi-based franchise paid Rs. 10.75 crore to acquire him in 2022, but his contract was canceled after only one season. In a total of 8 test matches, 34 ODIs, and 25 T20Is, Shardul has played for India.
