The High Powered Committee (HPC) has cleared that the construction work of the new Assembly building will resume even informing that the new design of the dome will be ready within three weeks time.

"The HPC has cleared that the work can be resumed," Assembly Speaker, Metbah Lyngdoh informed after the meeting on Friday evening.

He also informed that they have been informed that the new design will be ready within three weeks time.

"We have agreed that a full presentation will be given with regards to the new design of the dome in three weeks time in the presence of all the members of the HPC and the technical team for necessary approval," Lyngdoh who is also the chairman of the HPC said.

Assembly Speaker also stated that as suggested by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) team in its audit report that light materials will now be used for the dome portion.
