An emergency situation in family leads a autorickshaw driver in Vadodara to start free ambulance service for people. Atul Thakkar runs this unique service towards humanity to help people reach hospital in time and save precious lives.
Eleven years ago in 2011, rickshaw driver Atul Thakkar lives in Wadi area of Vadodara city. On January 18, 2011, his wife Preeti Thakkar's health suddenly deteriorated and there was an emergency situation before him. Add to this, unfortunately his rickshaw also got punctured that day and even 108 ambulance could not reach in time. So Atul valiantly search for another rickshaw and shifted his wife to the hospital.
The doctors admitted her and informed him about heart is 35% working and that was due to not reaching on time. After seeing the condition of his wife Atulbhai started 'Free Autorickshaw Ambulance' to help patients reach the hospital faster and in time. He now also starts 'Free Car Ambulance' to serve people better.
Atul Thakkar said, 11 years ago my wife did not get timely treatment and today she is suffering from many diseases. So I thought that even though I have both rickshaw and money but still had so much trouble. How many difficulties must be faced by those who do not have both. So I decided to start 'Free Autorickshaw Ambulance' for the needy. My mother also agreed and with her blessings I started this service on my birthday on February 15, 2011 and so far help more than 500 patients reach hospital in time.
