“Punjab’s elected government has now become a puppet of Delhi’s bail-out gang,” says Chugh

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh tore into the Aam Aadmi Party leadership, accusing it of institutionalized anti-women politics and hypocrisy.

Referring to the recent removal of AAP Punjab’s women wing president Priti Malhotra, Chugh said, “When a woman within their own party stood up to question the dictatorial interference from the Delhi-based on-bail leadership, she was unceremoniously removed from her post. Priti Malhotra had been protesting in Patiala for the past few days against unfair appointments and Delhi’s interference—but instead of hearing her voice, the party chose to silence it.”

Chugh reminded, “This is the same party whose leaders once harassed a woman Member of Parliament right at the residence of their supreme leader. AAP didn’t stand with the victim but protected the culprits.”

He further said, “Before the 2022 Punjab elections, AAP promised ₹1000 per month to every woman in the state. It’s been more than three years—neither has the money come nor has the promise been fulfilled.”

Chugh added that the AAP government in Punjab, which was democratically elected, has now been reduced to nothing more than a puppet regime run by failed leaders from Delhi. “And now, even when voices of dissent rise from within their own party, especially from a woman leader seeking dignity and justice, those voices are being crushed under the weight of high-command dictatorship,” he said.

“AAP has once again exposed its real face—where there is no space for women’s rights, no place for internal democracy, and everything is subservient to one man,” Chugh concluded.
