BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing the Mann government of politicizing paddy procurement to divert attention from its own failures.

"The Bhagwant Mann government is using paddy procurement as a political tool to cover up its shortcomings. Only the BJP can truly meet the expectations of the people of Punjab, whereas the AAP has consistently engaged in political maneuvering,” Chugh stated.

Chugh highlighted that despite the central government’s allocation of ₹41,000 crore to Punjab, the AAP-led government under CM Bhagwant Mann has delayed paddy procurement, creating unnecessary hardship for farmers. He asserted that the AAP government is ignoring the sentiments of Punjab’s farming community.

On the upcoming by-elections for four assembly seats in Punjab, Chugh expressed confidence in the BJP’s candidates, including Manpreet Singh Badal in Gidderbaha, predicting victories for all four.

"Elections in Gidderbaha have always played a pivotal role in shaping Punjab’s political landscape," he added, emphasizing the importance of the upcoming by-elections.

Reflecting on the 1995 elections, Chugh remarked, "In 1995, despite Congress deploying 40 ministers, the people chose Sardar Manpreet Singh Badal. Today, we again need decisive leadership."

Chugh reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the people of Punjab and effectively meeting their expectations.
