BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today welcomed the party high command's decision to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections without alliance with any party.
In a statement Chugh said the BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been the custodian of the interests of Punjabis be it the punishment to perpetrators of 1984 anti-Sikh riots or opening up of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor.
Not only that, the Modi government has introduced a number of pro-farmer policies which have gone a long way to improve the plight of farmers in Punjab. The welfare schemes for the people of the state have made the BJP one of the leading parties of Punjab and in the coming elections the party would demonstrate its strength and the vision of the prime minister winning a majority of the Lok Sabha seats.
