The Delhi Police on Thursday morning issued an advisory over expected traffic congestion in central parts of the city in view of curbs imposed ahead of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s protest at Jantar MantarDelhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjab counterpart, Bhagwant Mann, will be among those who will join the protest.
Special commissioner (traffic) SS Yadav said the traffic has been affected since 8.30am in these areas. “We have advised the commuters to take alternate routes or avoid movement on this stretch to maintain the law and order situation near the demonstration site.”
Kindly avoid Jantar Mantar Road, Tolstoy Road, Parliament Street, Janpath, Ashoka Road and Rajiv Chowk till 1400 hrs. Traffic is expected to remain heavy on these stretches due to special traffic arrangements,” said the advisory.
