Outpost Mebo was upgraded into full fledged “C” Class Police Station vide General Diary Entry No 001, Time 1100 Hrs by the IGP Central Range Mari Riba on Wednesday.

Police Station Mebo was notified as “C” Class Police Station on 18th February 2014 vide Department of Home, Government of Arunachal Pradesh Notification No. HMB (A)-1/2014. The police station jurisdiction consists of 19 villages from Mebo Subdivision. 

After operationalizing the Police Station, IGP Riba inspected the ongoing construction works of new Police Station building, Mebo and 4 units of Type-II quarters at Mebo. He interacted with all the officers and staff present and boosted their morale with his motivational words. He also shared his experiences and briefed regarding importance of community policing, regular patrolling, prevention of organized crime and illegal activities among other things.

SP Sumit Kumar Jha informed that it was a long pending demand of the people of Mebo Subdivision to operationalize the outpost as a Police Station. Earlier People had to travel to Pasighat for all kind of works related to a Police Station which sometimes led to delay in providing immediate relief or assistance. 

Mebo CO Radhe Tatung, SDPO Pasighat Token Saring, OC Pasighat Insp Otu Gao, OC WPS L/Insp NK Khen, OC Special Branch Insp UK Pandey, SO To IGP Central Range Insp MK De, SI Aditya Chandra and staffers of Mebo PS were present on the occasion.
