Ganeshotsav in Vadodara is always a special occasion for people to watch different theme based Ganpati decorations. It is also a perfect setup for organisers to spread socially relevant messages among devotees comes to seek blessing of Lord Ganesha.

This year Baranpura Chopdar Faliya Yuvak Mandal is spreading a social message among people with help from a short film on Save the girl child. The short film made by Sandeep Rathod is to give a positive message of 'Beti Bachai Beti Padhao' in society.

The short film is based on a story of common family where a couple is having a 7 year old girl and expecting another girl child. The father is against it and take his wife for abortion against her wishes. However during the procedure mother dies and it gives a blow to the father as now only two members left in his family. 

This incident changed the whole thinking of father as he realise the mistake and now his 7 year old daughter becomes his life. He raised her with love and care, educate and make her a doctor. Finally the girl is about to get married and the father realised that once again he becomes lonely. The doctor girl promised her father to be with him always even after the marriage.

"With this short film we want to give message about girls are equally important and make the family proud. So the families who went for this type of crime can understand the loss and stop doing this. Everyday we run the film at Baranpura Chopdar Faliya Yuvak Mandal from 8 to 12pm and spreading the message to people coming to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha," said Sandeep Rathod, Concept & Director.
