Chandigarh: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today came down heavily on the AAP government in Punjab for its failure to keep its electoral promises and failing the state economy miserably.
Demands withdrawal of VAT on petrol, diesel
Taking strong exception to the imposition of VAT on diesel and petrol in the state, Chugh said it would paralyse the already-crippled economy of Punjab and would crush all sections of the society under heavy economic burden.
Fulfil election promise of giving Rs 1000 per head to women in state
He said while women in the state were still waiting for Rs 1000 per head pension as promised during the elections, the increasing debt burden on the state government was becoming a matter of serious concern.
Chugh also took exception to the manner the AAP government has messed up with the health system in the state. Instead of improving on the existing infrastructure of health centres, the AAP government has started playing politics even with the health of the people.
He said it was shocking to know that more than a dozen dispensaries which were serving people in rural areas have been closed to promote the Aam Admi clinics.
He took a strong exception to the fact that the AAP government was trying to make political mileage out of the health issues of Punjab.
Chugh said the entire state knows that the health dispensaries and mini hospitals are being converted into Aam Aadmi clinics for political reasons. Instead of strengthening the infrastructure in the already-existing structure of dispensaries, the AAP government is making a political joke at the cost of the health of the people in Punjab.
