INDIAN ARMY ORGANIZES SEMINAR CUM PANEL DISCUSSION ON CHINA AT TEZPUR 

Tezpur : A two day long seminar cum panel discussion on the theme ‘Demystifying the Dragon’ was organised by Gajraj Corps under the aegis of Eastern Command from 4th to 5th August at Tezpur.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Lt Gen DS Rana, GOC, 4 Corps to set the ball rolling for the seminar. 

During opening session of  the seminar included talks & discussions by eminent subject experts to include senior level diplomats, academicians & military dignitaries in three different sessions focusing on Sino-Indian Geo-Strategic Complexities, India-China Boundary Dispute and Border Management and Chinese Military Reforms as a Driver in Realization of China’s Global Dream. The discussions were steered by eminent panelists like, Ambassador Ashok Kantha, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh and Lt Gen SL Narasimhan.

The panelists provided a kaleidoscopic view of the contours of India’s engagement with China, ongoing military modernization & rise in Chinese global aspirations. 

The final session on second day included reflections from the panellists on implications and way ahead for Indian Armed Forces. The discussion was steered by Lt Gen Raj Shukla with senior military officials and domain experts who formed part of the panel.

The seminar culminated with a Closing Address by the Eastern Army Commander, Lt Gen RP Kalita who re-emphasized on the need to be operationally prepared round the clock for any contingency developing along the Northern border sand the importance of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Overall the seminar addressed critical issues at the operational and tactical level including security concerns, capability development measures and militarym odernization in order to derive actionable strategies towards further augmenting our

security architecture along Northern borders. The event was attended by over 200o fficers of the Indian Armed Forces in location and many more on virtual platform.
