TMC Meghalaya held a block level meeting today in the Ampati Assembly constituency in order to assess the state of grassroot election preparations as the election in Meghalaya is drawing closer.
Besides discussions on many important developmental issues of Ampati Assembly Constituency. The leaders also discussed and reviewed the grassroot preparations for state's upcoming assembly elections.
The issue of inclusion of Garo/ Khasi in 8th schedule which TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay raised today in Parliament's zero hour was also discussed in the meeting.
MDC Nehru D Sangma lauded the consistent effort put by AITC leadership in highlighting the issues faced by people of Meghalaya at National level.
Nehru D. Sangma reiterated the demand of TMC top leadership that the Garo-Khasi language be added to the Indian constitution's 8th schedule, saying that it is "high time" that the union government take cognizance of the state of Meghalaya's long-standing demand and respect it's will.
