Most of the planned Shillong Smart city projects is yet to take off in Shillong and now even Laitumkhrah area which is located in the heart of the city may get benefits out of the much hyped scheme provided Government approves the same.

Speaking about the Smart city projects in Laitumkhrah, local MLA, Ampareen Lyngdoh 

said that she has submitted proposals to the PWD to attend to the length and breadth of the roads in her constituency as now pedestrians are being disallowed to walk on the streets in the middle of the single lane where there is double lane vehicular traffic passing by and even the two wheelers.
