Tezpur: The 75 days long 'Amrit' Relay Long Range Patrol (LRP) led by DIG GC Purohit arrived in ITBP Tezpur camp on Saturday evening.This relay patrolling was given a grand welcome by Commandant IB Jhaand Commandant Dr Deepak Pandey .

This historical patrolling is being Organised on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav program .
This LRP will cover 7575 kms in areas of Indo China border.
This LRP has passed through Laddakh, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
This patrolling yatra of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force is receiving very warm welcome and felicitations all along the route from the local population and civil administration.
The Patrol Party is being led by Shri Girish Chandra Purohit, Deputy Inspector General, Sector Headquarter (Tezpur). He will hand over the flag of respected to next party with full honour .
Speaking on this occasion ,Shri Girish Chandra Purohit, Deputy Inspector General said that this patrolling from Karakoram Pass to Jachep-La, Arunachal Pradesh is an effort to connect the public and enforce the value of national integration.
On this grad welcome ceremony many dignitaries like Dr. Balraj Begra, Deputy Inspector General (Medical), Shri Indu Bhushan Jha, Comdt, Dr. Deepak Kumar Pandey, Comdt. Staff, K. N. Pant, Comdt. and many more officials were also present.
During this patrolling, various activities such as medical camp, distribution of medicines, plantation and educational and awareness lectures are being conducted by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force in the border areas. This programme of the force is being highly appreciated by the people of the frontier area.
ITBP is an elite force of India.
Presently ITBP has been guarding India-China border in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh states from the Karakoram pass in Jammu Kashmir to Jechap La in Arunachal Pradesh. The altitude of ITBP BOPs ranges from 9,000 ft to18,750 ft where the temperature dips to (-) 45 degrees Celsius.
ITBP Battalions are also providing security to various installations of national importance throughout the country, which includes Rashtrapati Bhawan, Vice President House, Rumtek Monastery (Sikkim), Tihar Jail (N Delhi), LBSNAA (UKD) and various sensitive installations in
Chandigarh (Punjab) Jammu (J&K) .
