A Gujarat man, who was jailed in Pakistan on espionage charges, has reunited with his family after spending more than 28 years behind bars. The 59-year-old man was arrested by Pakistan agencies in 1994.
Kuldeep Yadav, 59, was awarded a life term by a court in Pakistan and spent 28 years languishing in jail.
After reuniting with his family, Yadav appealed to the Union government to help bring back other compatriots languishing in prisons in the neighbouring country.
Yadav was arrested by Pakistani authorities on March 23, 1994, and was kept in detention for three years. Following that, a military court sentenced him to 25 years in prison on spying charges. He was transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail in 1996.
