BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today welcomed the record increase in MSP of 14 Kharif crops ad a phenomenal gesture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make farming a profitable venture.

Chugh said the MSP record increase reflects that the prime minister’s heart beats for farmers.

Chugh said the MSP hike is not just an economic adjustment — it is a declaration of respect for our farmers.”

Chugh said, “This hike in MSP, especially for crops like bajra, tur, urad, sesamum, ragi, and cotton, will ensure farmers earn at least 1.5 times their cost of production. It is not just about input cost, it's about honoring their contribution to the nation.”

Chugh emphasized that this is not the first time the Modi government has demonstrated its dedication to agricultural prosperity. He cited the strategic policy decisions in the basmati rice sector as a shining example of this commitment. “From removing the Minimum Export Price to promoting GI-tagged basmati rice globally and reinstating the RoDTEP benefits, the Modi government ensured that Indian farmers could access global markets confidently and competitively. These decisions weren’t just about trade; they were about farmer dignity and global opportunity.”
