Report on participation in “One Nation, One Election” on 21-05-2025

The Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi organised a Special Lecture on “One Nation, One Election” on 21-05-2025. Hon’ble Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Minister of Rural Development, Govt. of India as the Chief Guest on the occasion.

IGNOU Regional Centre, Bangalore participated online in the Lecture which was also attended by all the Regional Centres of IGNOU across the country. The Hon’ble Minister, in his lecture, stressed the importance of One Nation, One Election and how it will help the nation to reduce the cost, and valuable time and manpower requirements to conduct a free and fair election. The event was also attended by the officers, staff and learners of RC Bangalore. Seven learners attended the lecture in the RC Campus. 

Further, Sh. Sunil Bansal, National General Secretary, BJP also addressed the audience and highlighted the need for having One Nation, One Election system in national interest.

Six IGNOU Regional and the learners of those Centres from different states of the country interacted with the dignitaries and asked their questions on the benefits of “One Nation, One Election” System.

Five learner support centres under Regional Centre, Bangalore also participated in the event with learners from their centres, and found the Lecture to be very useful and meaningful for having One Nation, One Election across the country in the current national scenario.
