"Centre need's to investigate "

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today said that under the AAP government a new " grenade brigade" had taken shape to challenge the law and order situation in the border Punjab state.

While demanding an investigation by a central agency intlo the series of disruptive and violent incidents, Chugh said it's only in Punjab that grenades are being hurled around.

Chugh said there's a nefarious design to distrub the social fabric in Punjab, which the AAP government led by Bhagwant Mann has been encouraging.

The latest incident in Patiala, where some police inspectors brutally assaulted senior Army officer Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son Angad Singh, is yet another example of the deteriorating security situation in the state. The officer suffered a fractured arm, while his son sustained severe head injuries.

Chugh stated, "When those responsible for maintaining law and order start attacking security personnel, what will happen to the common people? The Punjab Police is behaving like criminals under AAP’s governance, proving that the rule of law no longer exists in the state." He added that only a few days ago, a grenade attack took place at the Thakurdwara temple in Amritsar, and now this incident has exposed the complete breakdown of Punjab’s law and order.

Reminding people of past incidents, Chugh highlighted that 2024 saw multiple bomb attacks on police stations in Punjab, proving that even police personnel are not safe. In the last five months alone, there have been 14 cases of bombings and attacks in the state, with security forces themselves being targeted.

"Now, after an Army veteran was beaten up by Punjab policemen in Patiala, it has become clear that those responsible for protecting us are not safe under AAP’s rule. This is a complete failure of the Bhagwant Mann-led government."

Chugh also pointed out that the Aam Aadmi Party has a history of disrespecting the Indian Army. He recalled that after the Indian Army carried out surgical strikes in response to the Uri attack, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal was the first to demand proof of the strikes. He continued this pattern of doubt when he questioned the bravery of our soldiers in Balakot air strike as well.

"Now that his party is in power in Punjab, soldiers are facing the consequences of this same disrespect. Punjab Police is openly assaulting Army officers and their families, while the government remains silent instead of taking strict action against the culprits."

Chugh demanded immediate strict action against the guilty police officers and called on the Punjab government to take concrete steps to restore law and order in the state.
