The city of Dhakuakhana was hit by a devastating storm early Sunday night, causing heavy damage in various parts of the city. The storm hit Deulia, Govindpur Lat Pani gaon village, Govindpur, Goal gaon village and other areas. The storm caused extensive damage to houses, barns, shops and farms of some people. The storm was so strong that the residence of Naba Kumar Baruah of Deulia village was completely destroyed and 10-20 trees of coconut trees were destroyed. Meanwhile, 20-25 huge trees of the Pani Gaon Government Silk Farm were uprooted and fell on the road. Therefore, traffic was disrupted on the road for a long time. The victims of the storm have demanded compensation from the government and the Dhakuakhana sub-divisional administration to conduct a survey of the storm-affected families and provide one-time financial assistance.
