In a yet another step, Indian Army unit based in Joypur celebrated World Environment Day in Sonari with students of ‘Jatindra Mohan Dev’ a government school in Sonari, Assam.

The event started with planting of saplings in the school premises followed by drawing competition on theme of Environment Day. The day was filled with fun filled activities with a message on environment protection and #BeatingPlasticPollution which is the theme for this year. 83 students & teachers participated in the initiative & took a vow on environment protection. The students appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army for taking a step towards protecting safeguarding environment. Speaking on the occasion Mr Vyas, a teacher in the school lauded the initiative & exhorted all students to shun the use of plastics.
