Today, Meghalaya TMC kick-started the Independence cup for the South Tura constituency at New Tura Ground.

The football tournament was inaugurated by Rangsakona MLA Zenith Sangma and West Garo Hills District Convener Richard M Marak among other party leaders.

The inaugural match was played between Team Hawakhana and Team Reserve Gittim, both belonging to the South Tura Constituency.

TMC Meghalaya is organizing football tournaments all across the state to encourage youth toward outdoor sports and fitness.

Speaking at the event, MLA Zenith Sangma reiterated the vision of the Trinamool Congress for the upcoming elections and said, “TMC is a youth-centric party and we’ll continue to organize such sporting events in the coming time.

We believe that sports bring discipline and fitness, therefore we’ll work towards creating more sports infrastructure for the youth of our state.”

Meghalaya TMC District Convenor for West Garo Hills Richard Marak welcomed MLA Zenith Sangma and other leaders at the inauguration ceremony of the football tournament.

Other leaders present at the event were Safford N Sangna TMC West Garo Hills District Coordinator, Noverfield R Marak former MLA from North Tura constituency and Rupert M Sangma former MDC from Tura.
