As the BPPF is losing its political existence and trying to fit in by forming allies with the BJP government, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma made it clear that there will be no change in the existing scenario. The alliance of BJP and UPPL in the region is still very firm. Hagrama Mohilary recently confessed to the BJP president JP Nadda, about his want to return as the head of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). However, CM Hemanta Biswa Sarma said that it probably would not happen as UPPL was the political ally of BJP in Assam. He further mentions that, even though Mohilary met BJP leaders in Delhi, there is no probable chance of a sudden change in the scenario.

Recently after Hagrama Mohilary met RSS leader Indresh Kumar in Nagpur, speculations arised that the former chief of BTR might join Bharatiya Janata Party. Experts are of the view that this is a very sharp tactic of Mohilary to redeem his political power and bring his party into existence. His move to please the RSS leaders and gain support from the ruling party of Assam BJP, justifies the fact.

BJP President of Assam Bhabesh Kalita on 15th November 2022, stated that the safron party will move ahead it's alliance with UPPL in the BTR. In the letter sent to JP Nadda, Hagrama vowed to support BJP in the next Parliamentary Election. He also promised that BPF won't place any candidate against the BJP in Assam. He also mentioned that BPF will act like a pillar to the Assam government under the leadership of Hemanta Biswa Sarma.

Mohilary has also written a letter BJP national leader JP Nadda, appealing BPF to be restored as an ally of the saffron party. With BPF losing it's political popularity, Mohilary is seen attempting to regain its position through different strategies.
