TMC MLA Zenith M. Sangma reiterated the TMC's demand for the inclusion of Garo and Khasi languages into the eighth schedule of the Indian Constitution today, after a joining and block committee event in Chongnapara, Salmanpara.
Zenith Sangma emphasized the work done by the TMC and its leadership by first calling for the inclusion of Garo-Khasi languages in the 8th schedule at a protest on 26th July in Delhi and then by TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay in the parliament yesterday.
Referring to a large number of NPP members and working block president who’ve recently joined the TMC fold, TMC MLA from Rangsakona stated, "I believe that the large number of people joining the TMC is a reflection of the serious efforts being made by the TMC and its leadership for the improvement of Meghalaya at the state and national levels.”
In response to the overwhelming attendance of people at the Salmanpara event, Zenith Sangma stated, "It is the people's enthusiasm and their trust in us which gives us strength to raise people's issues at every level."
Besides Zenith M Sangma, the other notable TMC leaders present at the Salmanapara event were Salmanpara MLA Winnerson D Sangma, Dengnakpara MDC Sadhiarani M Sangma, Kharkutta MDC Cherak W Momin, Rongrong MDC Rinaldo K Sangma, and Williamnagar MDC Alphonsush R Marak.
