Indian Army Army Eastern Commander General Officer of Commanding in Chief Rana Pratap Kalita will visit Tezpur today for the first time with a 4-day long visit.
General Kalita is visiting Tezpur for the first time since becoming the Chief Of Army Officers of Eastern Command.
The Army Commander will arrive by air force aircraft today and depart by helicopter to Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar after being welcomed by GOC 4 Crops and air force officials and others dignitaries of Tezpur
He will meet Arunachal Pradesh Governor Dr.Brig(read) B D Mishra at Rajbhaban on the evening.
General Kalita spent the night at the Governor's House today and will host another meeting on Wednesday with the chief minister and other ministers of the state before reaching Tezpur .
The GOC 4 corps along with the senior Army official will meet GOC-in-C and hold a discussion atTezpur on Wednesday evening.
General Kalita is also expected to reach Tezpur to Tawang army base on August 4 by helicopter and visit the Indo-China, Indo-Tibetan border areas.
