Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, etc., Jogen Mohan today attended the Anundoram Borooah award programme held at Baan Theatre in Tezpur and ceremoniously distributed cheques to six numbers of students of the district who had scored 75% and above in the recently held HSLC/ High Madrassa 2022 examinations.
Altogether 695 students from the district have qualified for the award, out of which 426 have secured star marks while 269 students have secured distinction marks.
The amount of Rs 16,000 was directly transferred to the respective bank accounts of the students through DBT by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma from the state-level programme held at Sankardev Kalakshetra auditorium today.
Speaking at the programme, Minister Jogen Mohan asked the students to aspire to excel in their academic careers and take inspiration from the illustrious life of Anundoram Borooah.
Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra delivered the inaugural speech. Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rava also spoke on the occasion.
The central programme from Guwahati was also screened live for all those present at Baan Theatre today.
Chairperson, Tezpur Municipal Board, Prajnanoo Bhattacharyya, vice-Chairman, Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Ltd, Tulshi Borthakur, social worker Batash Orang and other prominent personalities, officials and staff of Education department were present in today’s programme.
