He has previously expedited to set up base camps in the mountains to climb the mountains and introduce the world to the beautiful snow-capped mountains of Arunachal Pradesh. He started the climb on August 21 with a porter to establish another base camp up from the first base camp on Chatham Mountain, which he had established himself a few years ago. However, Tapi Mara and his colleague Niku Dao went missing due to adverse weather conditions. Interestingly, there is no road to the first base camp on the Chinese border in East Kameng district, which requires a seven-day walk from the last village on the Chinese border.

The State Museum of Arunachal Pradesh has installed all the equipment and statues of Everest climber Tapi Mara. The news of the disappearance of Tapi Mara, a pioneer of mountaineering in Arunachal Pradesh and the North East, has come to light too late.

Even for the rescue operation in Tapi Mara, rescue teams will have to walk for seven days to reach there. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is personally overseeing the rescue operation to rescue Tapi Mara, who is working as a mountaineering instructor in the Sports and Youth Affairs Department.

There is also information on how Tapi Mara started preparing before starting his journey to the first base camp on the China border in Arunachal Pradesh. Tapi Mara, who devoted his entire life to mountaineering, worked at his own expense to bring climbers from around the world to Arunachal Pradesh.
