BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh strongly condemned the shocking incidents of firing and murder in Amritsar that took place even as the Governor, a Union Minister, and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann were present in the city. Chugh said the episode has once again exposed the grim reality of Punjab’s deteriorating law and order, proving that public safety has completely slipped out of the Mann government’s hands.
Chugh said that when shootings and killings can happen in a city under the highest level of police deployment and VIP security, it raises a serious question about the fate of the common people across the rest of Punjab. He noted that if gangsters have no fear even in the presence of top constitutional and administrative authorities, it clearly reflects how emboldened criminal networks have become under this government.
Chugh added that the Mann administration is busy staging events, pushing photo-ops, and making hollow claims while the state is sinking into lawlessness. He said the ground reality shows a complete breakdown of policing, with gangsters dictating terms and the government reduced to mere spectators.
Chugh said Punjab today needs peace, security, and stability—not cosmetic announcements, not inflated propaganda, and certainly not excuses. He demanded that the Chief Minister immediately review the situation, fix accountability within the police establishment, and take firm steps to restore law and order because the people of Punjab cannot be left at the mercy of criminals any longer.
