Mysore's Excel Public School 7" Edition of STEAM Fest witnesses the highest footfall of 5000+ vistors

Over 150 projects displayed, including submissions for the ATL Marathon and 36 innovative projects themed around water.

Mysore, August 30, 2024 Excel Public School, Mysore, successfully hosted its 7th annual STEAM Fest 2024 on Friday, August 30th, at its Koorgalli campus with a record 5000+ visitors from the city and the state attending the event. The fest was inaugurated by Prof. Lokanath NK, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore, who along with the Principal Mr. Mathew KG and Mr. Prashanth Handady, the School Correspondent, officially launched the event. The fest, which has become a hallmark of the school's commitment to promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) education, attracted students, parents, educators, and science enthusiasts. across the district.

Ms. Chitra Uthaya, Head of Learning Events and Assessment at Excelsoft Technologies, delivered an insightful note on this year's theme, "Argyam," stressing the importance of water conservation in light of growing global water scarcity. As an ode to the students' ingenuity, a coffee table book titled "Roots to Rockets" was launched at the inaugural ceremony. 'Roots to Rockets' is a compilation of the student innovations presented at the fest. Following the inaugural ceremony, the audience was enthralled by a captivating cultural program, which included a dance performance depicting the origin of water, an innovative puppet show titled "Seashells and Star Stuff," a mime act on unequal access to water, and a courtroom drama on granting legal rights to water titled "Your Honour,". The cultural program was concluded with an inspiring musical performance by the students, featuring a song titled "Pani," dedicated to the theme of water conservation.

The visitors had the opportunity to visit the school's 7,000 sq ft innovation center, interact and engage with students, and witness 150 innovative projects with 36 projects centered around the theme of water and the remaining spread across Sustainable, Agriculture, Education, Al, Virtual Reality, Mobility, and more. Some of the notable projects included Nature RO - an innovative sustainable, DIY reverse osmosis filter system, Plant Filtration System for Greywater, Comic strips Aquapulator & Anarchy at

Bay, and an AI DEN where visitors got a chance to immerse themselves in the world of

Al and Gen Al.
