SECURITY FORCES BUSTED PLA INSURGENTS MODULE IN MANIPUR

In a major blow to the proscribed insurgent group PLA’s nefarious design to disrupt the 75th Independence Day celebrations in Manipur.

Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Battalions alongwith Manipur Police launched series of intelligence based joint operations from 11 Aug to 13 Aug and foiled major sabotage activities by apprehending 8 active PLA  insurgents from Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Kakching districts,said Defence spokesperson Lt.Col.Mahindra Rawat today.

In a statement he said , during the operation, two 9mm Pistols with magzines, 35 live rounds and two hand grenades were recovered.

These insurgents were also involved in killing of Non-Manipuri locals at Kakching Town and Andro Village, Imphal East district. This successful joint operation will be a big step in ensuring peace and tranquility in Manipur. 

Apprehended insurgents along with recovered arms & ammunition were handed over to Manipur Police.
