28th National Garments Fair opens

Bengaluru, August 1: The 28th National Garments Fair was inaugurated on Tuesday at Bangalore Palace. The three-day garments fair was inaugurated by Sandalwood actress Sharanya Shetty and B C Shivakumar, Managing Director of B S Channabasappa Sons.

The Garment Fair being held at Princess Shrine, organised by South India Garment Association (SIGA), has 150 stalls showcasing the latest collection of wedding, festival, and winter season garments. The objective of the garment fair is to provide a platform for showcasing more than 150 latest brands of garments.

South India Garments Association president Anuragh Singhla has said the SIGA has been organising a garment fair every year for the last 27 years. “This is the 28th garment fair. It has received a very good response from garment manufacturers. We put up 150 stalls and all were booked one month ago. It is a business to business (B2B) garments fair. A number of garment manufacturers from Mumbai, Surat, Delhi, Jaipur, Bangalore, and Nagpur are participating in the garment fair. They are showcasing the latest collection – wedding and festival as well as winter collection - of garments. The garment fair is B2B and retail customers will visit the garment fair,’’ said Anurag Singhla

He said ZOLA from Mumbai is sponsoring the 28th SIGA Fair 2023. “Many garment manufacturers, including Reliance Retail Fashion Brand, are participating in the garment fair. We are expecting around 2500 retail customers to visit the garment fair and a turnover of more than Rs 150 crore,’’ he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandalwood actress Sharanya Shetty has said various brands were showcased to cater to the needs of youth. “Each and every collection is good. The garment fair has the latest designs,’’ said Saranya Shetty.
